Senator Manny Pacquiao is under fire after Net 25’s management accused him of being disrespectful for failing to show up for their scheduled presidential interview.
Pacquiao was invited for an interview on January 31, 2022 for the Net 25’s show ‘Ano Sa Palagay Niyo?’ hosted by Ali Sotto and Pat Daza.
However, the interview did not push through as Net 25 claimed that Pacquiao did not show up after waiting for the senator for more than 10 hours.
Net 25 released an official statement on their website titled Pacquiao, binastos ang Net 25.
In the statement, Pacquiao’s team moved the interview time several times. After the media crew waited for more than 10 hours, the Net 25 management canceled the interview.
“Taliwas sa mga ipinalalabas sa ilang ulat na umatras si Sen. Manny Pacquiao sa interview ng NET25. Ang crew at hosts pala ang pinag-pull-out ng TV network dahil sa napakahabang oras na paghihintay ng mga ito sa presidential aspirant na hindi tumalima sa napagkasunduan.
“Tatlong araw bago ang schedule, ipinalipat nila ng 1PM dahil may conflict daw sa isa pang interview sa ibang network. Subalit sa mismong araw ng scheduled interview, ibinalik muli sa 3 PM, sa kadahilanang may senate session. Pagsapit ng alas-tres ng hapon ay humirit na naman na gawing 4 PM dahil patapos na raw ang session.
“Nang hindi pa rin dumating sa 4PM, nag-abiso muli ang kaniyang staff; magbobotohan na raw at pagkatapos nito ay makakaalis na siya mula sa kaniyang bahay. Sa puntong ito, nasa sampung oras nang naghihintay ang media crew ng NET25,” said the Network.
Pacquiao’s running mate, Lito Atienza, arrived at the location ahead of the scheduled interview time.
Net 25 then said that they were offended by the disrespect that the Pacquiao team showed.
“Ikinadismaya ng network ang kawalan ng respeto sa oras ng kapwa. Lubos pa na nakapagpalala rito ang naglalabasang report na taliwas sa katotohanan. Marami na nga ang kumikwestyon sa kaniyang kakayahan at karanasan na pamunuan ang bansa sa gitna ng gahiganteng problema na dulot ng pandemya. Idagdag niyo na ngayon d’yan ang kwestyon sa pagkatao niya.
“RESPETO SA KAPWA. LALO NA SA MALILIIT. ALAM MO DAPAT. DAHIL DOON KA GALING.”
Meanwhile, Pacquiao was teary-eyed during his interview with Boy Abunda as he recalled the hardship he experienced before achieving success in life.
