Actress-singer Nadine Lustre, on Monday, April 25, put her trust in the presidential aspirant and incumbent Vice President Leni Robredo in this upcoming May elections.
In a 2-min clip, Lustre, who has quite a huge following on social media, started by saying, “Mga kababayan, a message from your president.”
She then continued, “Charot lang! It’s time for a new president. The past 6 years? Guurl! I went through all of it!”
Lustre then relates herself to Robredo’s hardships over the past six years, including the rumors and criticism she received throughout her career.
“From bashers, intriga, to fake news left and right. Every year na lang buntis? Wala na bang bago?”
An independent and strong woman, she stressed, “Kinaya ko naman. I don’t need no savin’. I’m no damsel in distress.”
However, as a citizen of the Philippines, the actress wanted peace of mind—by selecting the most suitable President.
“Pero gusto ko din naman ng peace of mind. Don’t worry mga kababayan,” she said. “We will make sure na qualified yung papalit sa akin.”
Lustre pointed out that her struggles were no match to Robredo’s tribulations.
“I know someone who went through worse. Bashers, intriga, fake news for the past six years. But she still served tirelessly, faithfully, and wholeheartedly.”
“Dahil alam niyang deserve nating mga Pilipino. Ibang klaseng husay at tibay just to drown out the noise.”
The actress made an assurance that Robredo would give voice to every Filipino.
“She speaks up for you, and helps you find your voice. Kapag mahal ka, babalikan ka.”
Luster hits back before she ends her message at the only candidate (obviously Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.) who was absent in almost all presidential debates and forums.
“Ganiyan ang Presidente! ‘Yan naman ang gusto nating lahat ‘di ba? ‘Yung laging present at hindi ka iiwan.”
She then encouraged the public to vote for Robredo.
“Kaya mga kababayan, magtiwala tayo. Ako na ‘to eh! Lahat naman tayo gusto ng tahimik na buhay ‘di ba? Kaya ako, tataya ako sa best person who can give us that.
“Oh ‘di ba? Someone who can make us sleep better at night. Someone who can draw out our goodness. And someone who can make us proud of ourselves.
“Mga kababayan, this is president Nadine, confidently saying… C’mon guys, it’s 2022! At walang mas qualified na maging susunod na Presidente kundi si President Leni Robredo.
“Madam Leni, I gotchu! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas,” ended the actress.
Meanwhile, celebrities like Anne Curtis-Smith, Saab Magalona, Pokwang, K Brosas, Bianca Gonzalez, Paterno Esmaquel II, and filmmaker Antoinette Jadaone lauded Lustre.

Lustre, earlier in March, revealed that she supports the Leni-Kiko tandem.
“Before I say it, well… bakit ko ba patatagalin pa, alam naman na ng lahat na Team Pink din ako,” she shared during interview on Buwis Ko Para sa Bayan Ko’ hosted by DJ Chacha and Mon Abrea.
“I’m very very vocal about it just because, gaya nga ng sinabi ni Mon kanina, ano talaga, maganda yung track record, and I really see that, you know, na si Madam Leni tsaka si Sir Kiko, very ano talaga sila, they really care about the country, yan.”
