On May 24, Kapamilya Director Jerome Pobocan revealed that ABS-CBN is grooming Ivana Alawi as its ‘next dramatic actress.’
During the media conference for her upcoming series, A Family Affair, Pobocan said he felt happy joining the project because it was Alawi’s launching project with the Kapamilya Network.
“So this one, I’m very happy because ang kaibahan nito, unang-una, may bago tayong artista na nila-launch which is Ivana.Â
“Ivana is a social media star, more than an actress, and she’s being/ groomed to be the next dramatic actress of ABS-CBN.”
He also attested to Alawi’s kind, respectful, humble, and professional demeanor while she was on set.
“As a person siyempre nagulat ako, si Ivana is known for her sensual image sa mga post niya. But when I met her, it’s a screened persona.Â
“Kumbaga in real life, she’s simple, hindi siya maarte, what you see is what you get, and I love that about her kasi– and not only that– magalang, maasikaso sa mga tao, at tsaka hindi siya–makikita kasi ‘yun sa pagtrato miski sa mga production assistant, sa utility, sa maliliit na tao sa set, maayos siyang makitungo sa mga tao.”
He then highlighted the quality of their Kapamilya series, from its scenic locations to its cinematography.
“Well, first and foremost, panahon ng pandemya, gumagawa ulit ng ABS-CBN ng teleserye. This is one of the–sa panahon ng pandemya ngayon– this is one of the scenic, shot well, because ang ABS-CBN ngayon ay nagbubukas na ulit sa pagsho-shoot outside.Â
“We’ve shot in Masbate, we’re now shooting in Batangas and Laguna, ang milieu kasi namin ay dairy and cattle farming.”
He also felt happy working on the project alongside director Raymund Ocampo.
“So I’m happy na magkasama kami ni Direk Raymund, na ginogroom ang isa sa mga bagong stars ng ABS-CBN.Â
“It’s a big production in these times of pandemic season. So, parang maganda siyang panoorin kasi bumabalik na tayo sa pag-gawa ng malalaking teleserye.”
As for their series, Alawi stars in the upcoming Kapamilya production, Family Affair. Joining her are four equally gorgeous Kapamilya leading men Gerald Anderson, Sam Milby, Jameson Blake, and Jake Ejercito.
A Family Affair will premiere soon on Kapamilya platforms.
