MediaQuest Inc chairman Manny V. Pangilinan has made a statement about the possible expanded partnership between ABS-CBN and MediaQuest, TV5’s parent company.
After MediaNewser Philippines reported the ongoing talks between ABS-CBN and TV5, Rappler reported on Monday, June 6, MVP’s statement confirming exploratory talks between the two companies saying “nothing definitive or final has been reached at this time.”
MediaNewser Philippines reported on Friday, June 3, that ABS-CBN and MediaQuest are in advance talks for a possible 50/50 partnership. It will combine the two networks’ news production and editorial capabilities.
According to the report, ABS-CBN proposed the possible airing of TV Patrol on TV5.
Meanwhile, during ABS-CBN’s stock exchange filing on Monday, June 6, the Network didn’t deny nor confirm the news about the partnership but shared openness about the possible future advanced collaborations.
“Our goal as storytellers and content creators is to bring Filipino stories to audiences here and all over the world. This is the reason we are exploring content distribution opportunities that allow us to reach wider audiences and pursue our mission of service,” ABS-CBN said.
“Over the recent past, we have announced various local and international partnerships, including our content agreement with TV5. We continue to explore various partnership opportunities as they become available to us,” it added.
ABS-CBN’s weekday primetime shows are currently airing on TV5, so as its Sunday noontime show ASAP Natin To and movie block FPJ Da King.
