Netizens, especially the ‘kakampinks’ could not help but relate with Magdayao’s character in the top-rating Kapamilya series, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
If FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano mirrors real-life events, then its current story arc must be taking place in the same universe like ours. That is what the netizens seem to imply with how they reacted to last night’s remarkable episode, which saw the Task Force Agila reluctantly leaving Cardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) from their greatest enemies, as they fled to safety.
Last week’s intense confrontation between Task Force Agila and the combined forces of Lily Hidalgo (Lorna Tolentino), Renato Hipolito (John Arcilla), Arthur Padua (Tirso Cruz III), Lito Valmoria (Richard Gutierrez), and P/Maj. Albert de Vela (Geoff Eigenmann), was left with an intriguing cliffhanger. Netizens and loyal viewers wondered whether Cardo survived, or did he meet his end this time?
Leaving the blood-stricken battle scene, were Dalisay’s devastated comrades who could not believe they got forced to flee the scene and abandon their leader, just to survive. When they arrived at their hiding place, a bitter exchange of words ensued between the members. Most of them showed hopelessness and had second thoughts on whether to pursue justice for Cardo Dalisay or give up for good.
The hopelessness and disheartening response were not warmly received by General Diana Olegario (Angel Aquino), who admonished the group for seemingly giving up for Cardo.
“Di ba mga agila kayo? Nawala lang si Cardo, nakalimutan n’yo nang lumipad?! (Have you forgotten you’re all eagles? Did you just forget to fly, now that cardo is gone?),” she reminded them.
What struck the viewers and the netizens, however, is Shaina Magdayao’s character’s heartbreaking lines.
Many netizens expressed how much they can relate to the character and her frustrations, especially since many are still struggling to come to terms with the recent election results.
“Ang tagal na nating ipinaglalaban kung anong pinaniniwalaan natin pero pilit tayong isinusuko ng bansang ito. Pagod na pagod na ako makipaglaban’ (We’ve been fighting for what we believe for the longest time, but this country just keep giving up on us. I am so tired fighting),” P/Maj. Roxanne Opeña, Magdayao’s character, vented out.

The clip was shared by Twitter usert@AltStarMagic, and earned thousands of retweets and comments, most of which were from netizens sharing how much they can see themselves in Magdayao’s character.
“Di ba??? I was passively watching it kanina pero nung narinig ko iyong dialogue niya, natigilan talaga ako. Huhubels. (I know right?! I was passively watching earlier but my attention was caught upon hearing her dialogue)” shared @supernegatrona.

Mia, meanwhile, said how the supporters of outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo must be able to relate with Magdayao’s character. “Ang Probinsyano is on fire. I could really feel that all Kakampinks can relate to this.” she shared in a tweet.

“It hits differently when you know it’s happening right now,” he said in his tweet.

Twitter user @wasinpace, on the other hand, underscored FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’s role in shedding light upon timely and relevant sociopolitical issues. “and this is exactly why ang probinsyano is still relevant and will always be relevant” he tweeted.
