In a Facebook post on Wednesday, July 6, Senator Robin Padilla agreed with the statement of Leyte Representative 4th District Richard “Goma” Gomez, who suggested the amendment of the 1987 Constitution.

Padilla shared Gomez’s statement who likened the Constitution to a car that needs repair.

Former Chief Justice Meilou Sereno contradicted Gomez’s statement. Sereno said the Constitution is not like an old car.

Padilla is tasked to lead the Constitutional Amendments, Revision of Codes and Public Information and Mass Media.
