Radio DJ KC Montero came to the defense of Alex Gonzaga after the latter was criticized following her recent misunderstanding with Matteo Guidicelli.
In Tropang LOL’s (Lunch Out Loud) episode on August 11, Matteo called out Alex for her jokes regarding their “exes.”
In the end, Matteo then joked about Alex’s toenails.
A video clip of Matteo’s confrontation with Alex went viral online, but the part where Matteo joked about Alex’s toenails was cut off.
In KC Montero’s Facebook post on August 12, he said that netizens should not heavily criticize Alex as Matteo was only setting up to prank her.
He then shared a video including Matteo’s prank after his “serious” talk.
“Alex Gonzaga is being bashed so hard online now for a video that’s going around. An edited video not showing what really happened. But here’s the real video that shows that the “serious” talk was just a set up to a prank. Many people calling for a public apology when really they should be saying sorry to her now,” he said.
On Twitter, netizens said Alex still went overboard with her joke about Matteo’s ex-girlfriend Maja Salvador.

Montero still defended Alex saying that Matteo has also teased Alex’s relationship with Kean Cipriano.
He also teased her about Kean the day before.

Other netizens then said that Matteo only teased Kean because he was already annoyed with being teased about Maja.
Matteo Guidicelli already clarified that people missed the punchline in his statement.
“There’s a lot of people that say negative things about her [Alex Gonzaga-. I just want to clear the air and everything.
“Tropang LOL is an entertainment show and clips were coming out, naputol siya, without the punchline in the end e… na, ‘Let’s just joke around your toenails, Alex,’” he said.
