Kapuso star Elle Villanueva at the media conference for GMA Regional’s Kapuso Fans day at SM City Bacolod on October 20; shared the journey and success of their series. She took pride in the ratings she and her co-star amassed for the show.
Villanueva expressed gratitude when she learned that Return to Paradise garnered high ratings. She added that she was always proud of the work she and Monasterio did.
“Proud ako sa amin, sa show na ‘yun na nagawa namin and very happy kasi tinututukan talaga namin ‘yung ratings e. So everytime na mapataas, sine-share talaga namin,” she said.
She mentioned that she could relate to the love story in Return to Paradise.
“I think we’ve all been there … syempre ‘pag first love, you don’t know what’s happening – naka focus ka lang d’un sa love na ‘yun, parang hindi mo na napapansin ‘yung ibang mahal mo sa buhay… Kung manonood lang ako [sa character], makakarelate ako e.”
Monasterio saw it as a success when fans messaged him about how emotionally invested, they were with the show. He added that he was excited about the show’s trajectory and how far it has improved.
In September in an interview, he shared how they translated their feelings to their performance to improve their scenes.
“Hindi namin naiisip na kailangan ganito ‘yung ano para mas mukha siyang sexy. Kung ano ‘yung nafi-feel namin deep inside, nilalabas lang namin sa isa’t isa.”
Return to Paradise airs on Mondays through Fridays on GMA’s Afternoon Prime.
