Fire & Ice Media Production and Nathan Studios – the producers of Divine Divas: The Ultimate Drag Experience, which is set to dazzle Pinoy drag aficionados on February 10 at the New Frontier Theater – have officially announced two of the show’s special guests – young actress Andrea Brillantes and Filipino-Norwegian singer-actor Markki Stroem.
This is a very exciting surprise amongst certified drag fans as the two artists are set to share the stage with the three fabulous stars of the show: Drag Race Philippines season 1 alums Viñas Deluxe and Brigiding as well as grand winner Precious Paula Nicole – who are all pumped-up to set the stage on fire on what is the biggest and most dazzling drag show in the Philippines to date.
Insiders say that Andrea is prepping up with a grand production number with the three queens to the tune of one of the most iconic pop songs that greatly influenced and empowered the LGBTQ+ community.
It should also be noted that Viñas, Brigiding, and Precious Paula Nicole, as well as Ice Seguerra, are four of Brillantes’ co-stars in the upcoming iWanTV series Drag You And Me – a heartwarming comedy-drama about a young girl who wants to win a drag contest to help her family.
Markki, on the other hand, created a social media splash with photos of him in full drag with another RuPaul’s Drag Race alum – the internationally acclaimed Manila Luzon, who, like Markki, also celebrates her Filipino heritage as one of the most iconic and legendary contestants of Drag Race.
Both Fire & Ice and Nathan Studios are mum about Markki’s participation in the show except that the young actor is excited to be part of an explosive drag extravaganza – “drag is where you live out your ultimate fantasies. I’m happy, game siya,” says the show’s director Ice Seguerra who also directed the queens in the werkroom and all the Untucked episodes of Drag Race Philippines.
Though it is still unclear whether Andrea and Markki will set foot onstage in full drag regalia, Ice Seguerra reveals that their participation in the show will definitely be “over-the-top and not to be missed because of the shock value. Matinding pasabog ito…promise.”
