The Kapamilya actor’s comeback series, FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’ delivered expectations-shattering numbers online.
Live concurrent viewers for the debut of primetime series, FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’ soared past 340,000 on YouTube, last night, February 13. Such a figure was never seen in the 8:00 pm slot, for six months. FPJ’s ‘Ang Probinsyano’ which ruled the time slot for nearly seven years, set numerous record-setting milestones, notably peaking at nearly 600,000 concurrent viewers, during its finale episode on August 12, last year.
With FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo‘, Martin did not just re-affirm himself as the one and only primetime king, he also began a new television legacy, one that may establish him as “undisputed” local entertainment royalty. ‘Batang Quiapo’ like ‘Ang Probinsyano‘ is based on a Fernando Poe Jr. Classic.
On Facebook, concurrent viewers on Kapamilya Online Live peaked at more than 20,000, while on YouTube, the figure increased more than ten folds, peaking at more than 341,000. One must note that like FPJ’s ‘Ang Probinsyano’, FPJ’s ‘Batang Quiapo’, is projected to post impressive TV ratings, despite TV5 and A2Z’s limited free TV reach. Martin’s last TV series notably defeated its rival Kapuso show, on multiple occasions, proving the actor’s massive popularity.

It’s not the medium nor the frequency but the story, the acting prowess, and the quality of the production,” his tweet reads.
