On February 15, Kapuso director Jorron Lee Monroy highlighted how Mga Lihim ni Urduja compares to Hollywood productions.
At the media conference for Mga Lihim ni Urduja, Monroy hinted a new filming technology they plan to introduce with the upcoming Kapuso mega-serye.
“We’re also introducing a new technology in filmmaking, so nagsimula ‘yun na nakwento ko lang na baka magandang gawing graphic novel ‘yung mundo ni Urduja. So ‘yung excited ‘yung producer namin, si Miss Mona Mayuga, introduced this new technology na naririnig ko na before, mayroon siya sa Hollywood, but you know she made it happen, na ‘Oh My God, it’s here.’ So na-excite din ako personally na tatapak na tayo.”
He also emphasized their focus on providing quality aesthetics for the series.
“Talagang inembrace namin ‘yung pinagusapan namin na, ano ba talaga ‘yung aesthetics na gusto namin. Di ba, kasi dati sinusunod lang natin ‘yung trend natin sa TV, kung ano ‘yung uso, ano ba ‘yung maganda. Pero ngayon po talaga, personal siya eh na ano ba ‘yung maganda para sa amin, sa aming lahat actually.”
He also asserted how the cast and crew actively ensure the quality of the action-adventure series.
“So nagkasundo muna kami doon at sinabi namin na ito ‘yung quality na gusto naming i-deliver. So, katulad nga nung sinabi namin kanina, hindi natin ‘to mamadaliin. Na ibibigay natin ‘yung puso natin bawat eksena, papagandahin natin siya. So we always go back to that mantra na ‘yung pag-buo namin noong palabas. Para hindi tinipid ang mga manonood, hindi minadali, hindi ninyo mararamdaman na, ‘Ah tinapos na lang.’
“So tuwing maiisip namin na TV, kailangan namin tapusin, hindi babalik kami, papaalalahanan namin ang isa’t isa, kahit ‘yung mga artista, kahit ‘yung director, writers, producers, lahat, ‘Oh, teka lang. Hindi eh nangako tayo na bubuuin natin ‘to sa kalidad na gusto natin kasi lalaban na tayo sa international stage.'”
He then voiced his hopes of elevating the Philippine entertainment industry.
“So ako personally, it has always been my advocacy to put the Philippines, ‘yung entertainment industry ng Philippines, na makilala tayo sa ibang bansa na sana hindi lang kami, hindi lang GMA Network, sana lahat tayo sabay-sabay umahon.”
As for their series, Mga Lihim ni Urduja stars Kylie Padilla, Sanya Lopez, and Gabbi Garcia.
The action-adventure series also features Zoren Legaspi, Jeric Gonzales, Arra San Agustin, Vin Abrenica, Michelle Dee, Kristoffer Martin, Rochelle Pangilinan, Pancho Magno, Gina Pareño, and Sunshine Dizon.
Directed by Monroy with Dominic Zapata and Ralf Malabunga, ‘Mga Lihim ni Urduja‘ premieres on February 27, 2023, on GMA Telebabad.
