Sparkle star Ken Chan admitted falling in love with his former on-screen partner Rita Daniela in the past.
On February 22, during an interview with TV host Boy Abunda, Chan revealed that he had fallen in love with Daniela.
Abunda asked Chan what had happened to him and Daniela; if Chan had fallen in love with his co-star.
Chan revealed, “Hindi kami nag-aaway, Tito, pero mayroon kaming hindi napagkasunduan. I’ll be honest, Tito. Dumating kasi sa point kami ni Rita… Totoo pala ‘yon, ‘no? Posible ka pala talagang mahulog sa ka-love team mo. Akala ko kasi dati hindi totoo ‘yun, e, parang kaya mong pigilan. Sabi namin, ‘Walang ma-i-inlove sa isa’t isa ah.’”
Chan revealed that he and Daniela had made a promise to each other.
The actor admitted , “Yes po. Inamin namin sa isa’t isa kung gaano namin kamahal ‘yung isa’t isa, more than friends, more than katrabaho, beyond that. Pero alam namin ‘yung limitasyon namin. May sarili siyang priorities. Ako rin, Tito Boy.”
Chan said it was during those times that he explained to Daniela that he was just starting to realize the business that he wanted. Therefore, his time was focused on it as well as on his acting career. He said the actress understood but he felt he had somehow hurt her feelings with this revelation.
Chan and Daniela were the lead stars in many Kapuso series and movies such as ‘My Special Tatay’, ‘One of the Baes’, ‘Ang Dalawang Ikaw’, and ‘Huling Araw sa Tag-Ulan’.
In December 2022, Daniela gave birth to a boy with her non-showbiz partner.
