On April 19, Kapuso star Princess Aliyah revealed what happened to her role on GMA Network’s First Yaya.

At the launch of Sparkle Teens, which LionhearTV covered, Aliyah cited that her role in the beloved Kapuso series got sidelined because of health restrictions for child actors during the pandemic.

“Actually po dapat, bago mag-start ‘yung pandemic, mayroon po akong regular show, ako po dapat ‘yung anak sa First Yaya. Pero, unfortunately po, dahil nagpandemic, is hindi po natuloy. She added, “Mga 12 years old po ako noon, actually nag-story con na po kami noon, lahat-lahat, tapos bigla po na-cancel. Kaya sad talaga. Pero, I’m super happy for ate Pat na makuha niya yung role.”

Aliyah confirmed that she had the role of Nicole Acosta before Patricia Coma.

She then clarified that although she lost a role in the highly successful Kapuso series, she used her time during the pandemic to focus on her studies.

As for landing a spot on Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s Sparkle Teens, Aliyah confessed that she didn’t expect the project.

Regarding Sparkle Teens, the GMA Network debuted 19 teen celebrities to boost their star power and potential.

These young artists consist of Waynona Collings, Charlie Fleming, Keisha Serna, Gaea Mischa, Selina Griffin, Ashley Sarmiento, Naomi Park, Liana Mae, Aya Domingo, Princess Aliyah, John Clifford, Lee Victor, James Graham, Antonio Vinzon, Aidan Veneracion, Josh Ford, Bryce Eusebio, Marco Masa, and Zyren Dela Cruz.
