After the much-talked-about cancellation of ALLTV programs, including Wowowin, comedian-host Willie Revillame–is said to have already left the AMBS’ (Advanced Media Broadcasting System) ALLTV network.
According to Revillame’s longtime publicist and “nanay-nanayan” Cristy Fermin on her YouTube video uploaded on Monday, April 3, the Wowowin host has already tendered his formal resignation from the Network.
“First, nyo po itong maririnig, mapapanood sa aming programa. Isa pong source ang nakapagbalita sa amin na sumulat na po si Willie Revillame sa pamunuan ng ALLTV, ng AMBS 2. Sumulat na po sya, nag-resign na po sya, at wala na siyang kinalaman sa istasyon,” she said.
“Pormal na po syang nagpaalam sa pamunuan ng AMBS 2, sa ALLTV, at sya po ay nagbitiw na. Nagresign na po si Willie Revillame sa ALLTV.”
The columnist and host, however, added that while Revillame may be out of the ALLTV network, with his character and proven charisma among the public, he will find ways to make another comeback.
“Kung mawala man sya dito sa ALLTV, at totoong hindi na sya kabahagi ng network, ang daming paraan para makabalik sya diba…. Kaya nya yan, kaya nyang humanap ng kapalit para sya’y makabalik.”
In February 2022, Revillame decided not to renew his contract with GMA Network to join Villar’s AMBS.
On September 13, 2022, ALLTV had its soft launch, with Revillame as part of the management team, and he promised to change the landscape of primetime TV.
However, just a few months after its launch, the AMBS management decided to cut off the airing of its station-produced programs due to poor ratings.
The Wowowin host denied it at first, saying there were no announcements yet about the program cancellations. He even boasted about the upcoming Wowowin studio that had its construction at Starmall Mandaluyong.
The host-comedian also went on a series of televised meltdowns, gaslighting those who seemed to rejoice with the news about the cancellation, appealing to set aside politics and [just] pray for their Network.
He also blasted several unnamed celebrities who criticized him and threatened to expose them for accepting help from him in the past.
Meanwhile, according to the latest news, Revillame did not resign but requested release from his exclusive contract with ALLTV.
According to Jojo Gabinete’s PEP article on April 4, the Wowowin host asked AMBS owner Manny Villar to release his contract for the meantime since Wowowin was still on hold while ALLTV was working on strengthening their signal and reach.
