On May 15, singer Gigi De Lana passed out during her performance at the Paoay Sand Dunes in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
The viral Filipino singer was performing Kitchie Nadal’s ‘Bulong’ when she suddenly passed out in her seat.
Earlier that morning, De Lana and her band, ‘Gigi Vibes’, got into a car accident while traveling from the ‘Sulong Aurora Event’ to the ‘Himala Sa Buhangin Event in Ilocos Norte.’
Gigi De Lana had a car accident earlier today pero ni-pushed pa rin nya umattend sa Himala sa Buhangin. We highly appreciate your presence @Gigi De Lana ❤️ Hoping ang praying for your faster recovery ✨ #himalasabuhangin #PaoaySandDunes #Paoay #IlocosNorte #ImIN #MusicFestivals #fypシ #anj
Alongside her bandmates Jon, Oyus, Mela, and four other crew members, Gigi sustained minor injuries.
Before she passed out, some stage personnel had to assist De Lana in getting on the stage into a seat while wearing an arm-sling.
In April, De Lana announced that she planned to take a sabbatical from performing because of her throat nodules.
Aside from that, De Lana revealed in an interview with PEP that she intended to take one to two months of rest. This was to focus on caring for her mom, who has cancer.
De Lana, a Filipino singer-songwriter, artist, model, and dancer, was born on September 24, 1995, in Olongapo City, Zambales. She first ventured into showbiz with ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’. She rose to popularity because of her viral online performances with her band Gigi Vibes on social media.
De Lana is currently under Rise Artist Studio and Star Magic’s management. She also worked on TV and movie projects, such as ‘Hello, Heart’ and Four Sisters Before The Wedding.
With her back-to-back commitments at the moment, is it safe to say that she’s been working herself out a little too much?
