Xyriel Manabat may have taken a hiatus from acting for a few years, but she never left her fans’ hearts.
Her recent comeback project, ‘Dirty Linen’ has once again proven that she has what it takes to capture an audience’s attention and leave a lasting impression.
What’s interesting about her recent role is that she’s playing “Kontrabida”, which is a far cry from the cute and bubbly kid roles she played in the past. But according to the young actress, her fans love her “Kontrabida” role even more.
“Natutuwa po sila and favorite na nila ako na kontrabida kasi hindi daw po sila napipikon, natatawa po sila,” she shared in the ‘Save the Date’ press conference for Star Magic’s LaHot Sexy Summer Bikini Ball.
“Okay lang naman po as long as maganda naman po yung story and maganda yung role ko, hangga’t kaya ko po bigyan ng justice yung role ko bida man o kontrabida gagawin ko po yung best ko,” she said.
Her maturity as an actress is evident in her recent performances. Manabat has come a long way from her days as a child star, and she attributes her growth to her early exposure to the industry.
“Na-establish rin po siguro dahil maaga po ako namulat sa industry, nagiging expressive po ako ngayon and mas may connection po ako sa thoughts ko at sa kung ano po yung mga napagdaanan ko kaya po may mga hugot din po ako when it comes to my wisdom,” she explained.
But despite her growth and success, the actress remains grounded and humble. When asked about her future plans, she simply said, “Yes, sana po sunod-sunod yung projects kasi masaya po talaga ako sa ginagawa ko.”
Manabat’s comeback project may have surprised some of her fans. However, it’s clear that she’s still the same talented actress they fell in love with years ago. However, she has a more mature and nuanced approach to her roles.
