Speculation arose among netizens as Kapuso actor Alden Richards shared an enigmatic emoji in his Instagram story.
This was following the airing of the new ‘Eat Bulaga’.
However, Richards quickly clarified that the post had no relation to the ongoing TVJ and TAPE Inc. issue that has made headlines.
In his Instagram story posted on June 5, Richards uploaded an emoji without a caption. Netizens immediately interpreted the post, linking it to the TVJ and TAPE Inc. controversy. Many perceived the male emoji as reflecting disappointment, further fueling speculation.
However, in an interview with television host MJ Marfori during the red carpet event for Extraction 2 on Netflix, Richards was asked about the meaning behind his Instagram story post and its connection to ‘Eat Bulaga’.
“Hindi siya (referring to the Instagram emoji post) professional?”
“Hindi tungkol sa Eat Bulaga?”
To which Richards responded firmly, “No, of course not,” emphasizing that the post had no relation to the iconic noontime show. He explained that he was simply going through personal matters and that the post was about trivial things.
Following his clarification, Richards expressed his unwavering love and support for TVJ. He reassured everyone that regardless of the circumstances, his loyalty and dedication would always remain with the previous hosts. He also acknowledged the people who helped him along his journey, expressing deep gratitude to them.
“To the TVJ, know that kahit ano pa man po ang mangyari, my loyalty ‘yong sarili ko is for them regardless. I’m always looking back dun sa mga taong nagtulong sa’kin nang Malaki, and I think I have the right to defend that, and that’s my stand, because malaki po ‘yong utang na loob ko sa kanila and my support for them will go until the end of time” Richard declared.
Netizens applauded Richards for his loyalty and clarified their understanding of his post. One comment expressed approval, stating, “Marami na ksing natulungan ung tvj kya kilalang kilala sila sa buong mundo i salute u alden”.

This is after actress Bea Alonzo stepped down from the project. ‘Special Memory’ is a local adaptation of the Japanese TV drama ‘Pure Soul’.
