In the midst of swirling rumors regarding the alleged breakup between Kapuso actress Liza Soberano and Kapamilya actor Enrique Gil, Soberano’s father, John, has come forward to dismiss the claims made by Kapamilya comedian Ogie Diaz.
Taking to Facebook on May 31, John expressed his disappointment and stated that Diaz’s claims lacked substantiated evidence.
Notably, Diaz, in his Showbiz news vlog on May 30, created a stir online by asserting that Soberano and Gil had called it quits, citing Soberano’s decision to focus on her career in Hollywood as the reason behind the alleged breakup.
“Actually, nakarating din sa’kin ‘yan na split na o break na sina Enrique Gil at Liza Soberano. Parang nag-ugat ito sa mga pronouncement o naging statement o mga nakaraang interviews ni Liza, never niyang binanggit si Enrique Gil,…”
“Tapos ‘yung parang hindi pa siya pabor sa mga pagtatatag ng love team kaya nagkaroon ng agam-agam na baka nga wala na sila kasi una, hindi niya pinagmamalaki ang boyfriend, kasi kung ano magpo-post ‘yan si Liza,” Diaz said.
“Ang nakarating sa atin ay si Enrique Gil ‘yung nagpu-push pa na baka kaya, na baka posible pa ring maituloy, pwede naman niyang i-allow si Liza kung ang gusto ni Liza, na ito pa rin ang kanyang Hollywood dream pero sila pa rin.” He added.
Soberano’s father, however, swiftly responded on Facebook, dismissing the claim made by Diaz and stating that it lacked concrete evidence.
“Kaya dumadami taong nagvavlog, dami mga oto-oto maski Wala Naman hard facts pinapatulan,” John wrote.
Adding to the speculation, Soberano’s former road manager from Star Magic, Maquie Sarmiento, posted an Instagram photo on May 31 featuring Soberano and Gil. Although the exact date of when the photo was captured remains uncertain, but it appears to have been taken while Sarmiento was visiting the Philippines.
While the post did not directly address the breakup rumors, it further fueled speculation that the couple may still be together.

With the absence of official confirmation, fans are now confused and are now eagerly awaiting an official statement from Gil and Soberano themselves or their respective representatives to shed light on the true status of their relationship and put an end to the ongoing speculation surrounding their alleged breakup.
Until then, the fans remain hopeful for a definitive answer to confirm whether or not the beloved couple has indeed gone their separate ways.
