The 74th founding celebration of General Nakar was a true testament to the theme “Sanlaksang Saya: Fiestang Nakarin, Ani ng Galing!” The festivities were filled with fun, thrill, and excitement, highlighted by the highly attended street-dancing competition on July 21.

As part of the opening celebration, a competition showcasing the participants’ excellence in street dancing and dance showdown was held. The dance performances of the participants reflected the rich traditions, culture, and products of General Nakar, Quezon Province. Various barangays, including Anoling, Poblacion, Pamplona, and Minahan Sur, enthusiastically joined and showcased their talents. The event was organized by the Tourism Section, led by Senior Tourism Operations Officer Jonathan Saynes.
For the street dancing and Dance Showdown Competition, a panel of judges consisting of DOT Regional Director Marites T. Castro, Principal II Sir Conrado G. Prudente, Senior Tourism Operations Officer Benirose V. Talabucon from the town of Real, Tourism Operations Officer I Maria Jennifer L. Babat from the town of Lucban, and INHS Teacher III Sir Wilmer C. Vargas had the challenging task of selecting the overall champion.
The live audiences were delighted and satisfied as they personally witnessed the extraordinary performances. However, for the judges, it was a tough decision-making process to pick the sole grand prize winner among all the impressive delegates.

Ultimately, Brgy. Anoling Street Dancers emerged as the champions in the Street Dancing and Dance Showdown Competition, also winning the awards for Best in Costume and Best in Choreographer. They took home the Php 60,000 champion prize, a testament to their exceptional skills and hard work.

Meanwhile, Brgy. Poblacion secured the first place with a prize of Php 40,000, followed by Brgy. Pamplona in the second place with Php 30,000, and Brgy. Minahan Sur in the third place with Php 15,000.

The spectators were captivated and amazed by the talents, skills, and artistry displayed by the Nakarin community in their dance performances.
This competition was a remarkable showcase of the local government’s commitment to highlighting the talents of General Nakar, under the excellent leadership of our Action Man, Hon. Mayor Esee Ruzol. It was a celebration that truly demonstrated the brilliance and brilliance of the Nakarin people.
