Award-winning actress Jaclyn Jose has bravely come forward to reveal that she once experienced what she calls “deadly love.”

In a recent media conference for the Viva One suspense-thriller series, Deadly Love, the acclaimed actress disclosed that she had been in an abusive relationship and had to escape to break free from the clutches of her former partner.

Although Jaclyn did not mention the name of the person she was referring to, she spoke candidly about the terrifying chapter in her life concerning love.

“Deadly love, talaga. But it’s all done now, everything’s done. Maraming-maraming panahon na ang nakalipas so naka-recover na tayo, but it happened to me,” she confessed.

The actress emphasized the seriousness of her experience and how scary it was, stating, “It was very, very scary, but kailangan mong tumakas… nakatakas naman.”

Jaclyn emphasized that it was a one-time occurrence and that she would never allow it to happen again.

Although she chose not to elaborate on the specifics of the relationship, she emphasized that toxic love can manifest in various forms and should be taken seriously. “Ayoko nang i-elaborate kung anong klase, but it’s a matter of life and death in any form,” she asserted.

The multi-talented actress, who made history as the first Filipino to win the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2016, has starred in the recent Viva One series, Deadly Love, where Jaclyn stars alongside Marco Gumabao, Louise delos Reyes, and McCoy de Leon.

The much-anticipated series is now available on Viva One streaming and had its world premiere on July 10, 2023.
