In an interview conducted on May 25, 2023, critically-acclaimed actress Jodi Sta. Maria revealed that intimate scenes have always been the most challenging for her as an actress. Sta. Maria, known for her remarkable performances, opened up about the difficulties she faced while shooting a sensuous scene for her project with Joshua.
“For me, intimate scenes are the most difficult scenes to do. It will require a certain level of vulnerability and trust from your scene partner, and also from your director, and from everyone na nandoon sa space na yun, sa set,” Sta. Maria expressed candidly.
To ensure a comfortable working environment and to prepare the actors for the scene, a sensuality workshop was organized before they left for Europe. This workshop facilitated open discussions about boundaries, allowing each actor to communicate what they were comfortable and not so comfortable doing during the scene.
Sta. Maria emphasized the importance of approaching these scenes in character, reminding herself that she was portraying her role, not herself.
During the workshop, both Direk Manny and Direk Dolly were present, showing their support and guidance to the actors.
Sta. Maria expressed her gratitude towards her co-star, Joshua, for being respectful and making the scene bearable. “Si Josh is very respectful and he made the scene bearable, and of course, to our directors, Direk Manny and Direk Dolly, na inalagan din naman ang eksena, to make it artistic.”
In the meantime, an update on the project reveals that Alex, portrayed by Gabbi Garcia, has decided to give her mother, Rose (played by Jodi Sta. Maria), another chance. Rose, determined to prove herself and provide for her daughter, will seize every opportunity that comes her way.
