On July 6, veteran broadcaster Korina Sanchez-Roxas revealed her comeback to ABS-CBN, generating excitement among fans and fellow celebrities.
“Well, I never really left. Rated Korina had always aired still on the ABSCBN platforms the past years… Now, as a balikbayan, I come in as a partner with my ABSCBN family who I grew up with via the co-production of Rated Korina. The baby is now a lady, hahaha! You can take the girl out of ABSCBN. But you can’t take that ABSCBN training out of the girl. And this is the experience I hopefully bring to my other broadcast homes and make a contribution as best I can, while I can, in whatever ways made possible to me. The ‘welcome back home’ is still in my ear, and my heart,” Korina expressed.
One notable personality who commented on Korina’s return was ‘TV Patrol’ news anchor Karen Davila.
Davila took to Instagram to express her joy, sharing her thoughts on Korina’s contract signing event with ABS-CBN executives for the co-production of her news magazine show, ‘Rated Korina,’ previously co-produced by Brightlight Productions.
She joined the discussion in the comment section, sharing her excitement, “Wooohooo! You never left K! You are forever etched in the history of ABS!”
Karen’s comment received a playful response from Korina, “Feeling ko nga hahaha.”
It can be recalled that rumors of a strained relationship between Korina and Karen circulated during Korina’s time as a contract employee of ABS-CBN. The two had denied the rumors when Korina previously guested on Karen’s vlog, and Karen, in turn, interviewed Korina on her program ‘Korina Interviews’ on NET25.
While Korina did not specify if she would make guest appearances on other news programs like ‘TV Patrol,’ she emphasized that she never really left ABS-CBN.
