On July 10, Kris Aquino took to Instagram to express her gratitude towards Mark Leviste as she asked for a pause in their relationship.
In her lengthy post, Aquino thanked Leviste for being her best friend and support system as she battled multiple autoimmune diseases. She revealed that Leviste had provided her with abundance of love and encouragement, becoming not just her boyfriend but also her confidante.
“[Mark Leviste] is leaving to go home to fulfill his obligations to his Batangas constituents. Nobody I’ve ever been in a relationship with has ever given me as much love & encouragement. He wasn’t only my boyfriend, he became my best friend and confidante, talagang maasahan.”
Aquino shared that her health condition, specifically her connective tissue disease, had worsened, making it challenging to maintain a long-distance relationship. She acknowledged the physical distance and time difference that separated them, as Leviste needed to fulfill his duties as the Batangas vice governor.
“I asked Marc for a pause because with my condition the way it is now, I’m self-aware enough to know that a long distance relationship will be next to impossible for us to maintain.”
Despite the decision to pause their relationship, Aquino expressed her unwavering belief in Leviste’s capabilities and stated that he would always have a place in her heart. She thanked him for allowing her to experience the magic of love once again, even if their story didn’t end in a happily ever after.
“Thank you Marc for being here for me especially when my 2 ‘giants’ went home BUT our reality is that there’s a Pacific Ocean that divides us, a 15 hour time difference, and a 13 hour flight. You know how much I believe in you and the last thing I want is to be an obstacle in your career as a public servant. This isn’t just a line, you will always have a place in my heart.
“We may not have had our ‘happily ever after’ but being sick has really taught me to look at the glass half full. Thank you for giving me the chance to again experience the magic of Once Upon a Time.”
In response, Leviste posted on his Instagram story, quoting a Bible verse from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. The verse emphasizes the qualities of love, describing it as patient, kind, not envious, not proud, and not easily angered.
Leviste also emphasized the last verse, stating, “Love never fails,” accompanied by a yellow heart emoji, echoing the sentiment shared by Aquino in her post.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.”
Leviste’s tweet,“LOVE NEVER FAILS,” further generated comments from netizens expressing their support and love for both individuals. The Twitter community interpreted the breakup as a temporary pause rather than a permanent split, hoping for a potential reunion in the future.
