The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has summoned the production team of It’s Showtime today to provide an explanation regarding some complaints received about the episode aired on July 25.
The complaints were related to a segment where Vice Ganda and Ion Perez were shown eating cake.
According to the MTRCB, there were concerns about the alleged indecent acts portrayed by Ion and Vice Ganda during the cake-eating scene. In the said video, Ion took a piece of icing from the cake he was holding and fed it to Vice Ganda, who immediately ate it.
Following the MTRCB’s response to the issue, social media has been flooded with expressions of concern and dissent. Previously, Rendon Labador was among the first to raise objections to the actions of Vice Ganda and Ion Perez in the “Isip Bata” segment aired on July 25.

I believe the MTRCB issue against Showtime is more of a political (if not business-related) matter I guess. Since hindi masyadong naging talk-of-the-town yung anniversary of some long-time noontime show and puno ng negative comments, they had to resort to do such a thing.
