Wilbert Tolentino has resigned as the talent manager of Herlene Budol after one and a half years.
One of the reasons he cited for his resignation is the need to focus on his health.
“Ako po ay opisyal ng magbibitiw bilang Talent Manager ni Herlene Hipon Budol effective July 31, 2023,” Wilbert stated in his Facebook account on Monday, July 24.
He further explained, “Mahirap man gawin, halos matagal ko [rin] pinagisipan. Subalit kailangan ko [nang] pagtuunan ng pansin ang aking kalusugan, at bigyan oras ang aking anak.”
Wilbert acknowledged that being a talent manager is not easy, and he needs to pay attention to his child’s upbringing as he is getting older.
As he reflected on his time as Herlene’s talent manager, he mentioned the challenges he faced and how fulfilling it was to fulfill his duties for her.
“Walang kapantay ang bawat hamon na aking naranasan, matupad lamang ang aking mga sinumpaang tungkulin para kay Herlene,” he shared. “Sa maikling panahon ng pag-aalaga ko [sa] kanya, marami na [rin] kaming na-achieve, hindi lang sa buhay nya kungdi sa karera niya bilang Beauty Queen.”
Wilbert recounted the achievements he helped Herlene reach, including her first runner-up title in Binibining Pilipinas 2022 and securing endorsements and her first lead role in the GMA Afternoon Prime series, “Magandang Dilag.”
Although he has stepped down as her talent manager, Wilbert expressed his happiness for Herlene’s accomplishments and said that she has a bright future ahead of her.
“Malayo pa ang mararating ni Herlene. Sana lang isapuso niya ang core value na itinuro ko sa kanya na COMMITMENT, PROFESSIONALISM and GRATITUDE. I am very optimistic na lalago pa ang karera niya and more endorsement, tv shows, and movies to come!”
He expressed gratitude to the companies that trusted him and Herlene and thanked GMA and GMA Films president Annette Gozon-Valdes, as well as the entire Sparkle Family.
Wilbert concluded his post with “Hanggang sa muli,” indicating that he remains supportive of Herlene’s future endeavors.
