In a recent media conference for ‘A Very Good Girl,’ actress Chie Filomeno openly confirmed her romantic involvement with actor Jake Cuenca.
When asked about the nature of their relationship, Filomeno shared, “We’re talking. Taking our time. You can say dating, of course, yes.”
She praised Cuenca for his understanding of her priorities and his patience in their journey. Filomeno also mentioned that her parents have already met Cuenca and are supportive of her decisions.
Filomeno pointed out that she and Cuenca had both experienced being “misunderstood” within the entertainment industry. She emphasized that genuine intentions eventually shine through and that they both appreciate each other’s character.
In response to questions about what she admires most about Cuenca, Filomeno gushed, “Grabe siya magmahal. He is really passionate with his craft. Love na love niya ang family niya. He is really family-oriented, ‘yun ang ina-admire ko sa kanya. Mabait. Alam naman nating lahat na mabait siya.”
Filomeno shared insights into how their relationship developed. They had briefly dated in the past, but circumstances led to a temporary separation. Fate brought them back together at a Christmas Ball event, and Cuenca’s persistence and patience won Filomeno over.
Addressing concerns that she might be a rebound following Cuenca’s recent breakup, Filomeno expressed confidence in his maturity and commitment. She stressed that they are taking their time to nurture their connection and revealed that this is her first public relationship.
Responding to opinions that Cuenca might be a “red flag,” Filomeno defended him, asserting, “I think kasi ‘yung mga tao ang bilis nila mag-conclude na ganitong tao si Jake kasi sa mga nakikita nila or nababalitaan. But alam ko at alam natin kung gaano kabait si Jake, kung gaano siya kamaalaga and hindi siya red flag guys. Hindi siya red flag.”
Filomeno had previously denied any romantic involvement with Cuenca, but she now openly acknowledges their relationship.
