On August 11, Kapuso star David Licauco talked about how he addresses the pressure from fans for him and Barbie Forteza to be a real couple.
At the opening event of Blue Water Day Spa at the Estancia Mall, Pasig City, which LionhearTV covered, Licauco said that he and Forteza discussed how they would handle fans clamoring for them to get together despite the Kapuso actress being with her beau Jak Roberto.
“I think, what we talk about lang is how– kung paano namin iha-handle ‘yung mga ganitong situation because, I think hindi naman siya problem for us. Ang ayaw lang talaga namin ay kapag may hates. Kasi at the end of the day, tao rin lang naman kami.”
However, he did understand how their fans got invested in their on-screen pairing after ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra.’
“But then again, you also have to understand na two sides of the story, kami entertainers and then ‘yung mga na-eentertain, so kailangan intindihin ‘yung both sides. So ako, para sa akin, kung tatanungin mo ako, okay lang naman mag-support, basta positive lang, iwas na lang sa hates.
“Maiintindihan mo ‘yung hates eh kasi nga invested sila sa love team.”
He then recounted how it was working with Forteza again with their upcoming Kapuso series Maging Sino Ka Man.
“I think, it’s only getting better everytime. Kasi, ‘yun na nga, ‘yung time na we spent together, almost everyday, mas nakikilala ko siya. Pati ‘yung mga nuances niya sa acting, na-experience ko. And it’s such a joy to work with Barbie kasi of course, napakagaling niya and ‘yung love niya for acting is contagious.
“And dati, madalas akong ma-late, ngayon hindi na, dahil kay Barbie, kasi nagagalit siya sa akin. So I think kung sa next ko na teleserye, or movie, kung hindi ko man siya kasama, no ako din.”
