Janine Gutierrez reveals how they came up with the ‘Mata-Mata’ acting in ‘Dirty Linen’

On August 16, Kapamilya actress Janine Gutierrez revealed how they came up with the ‘Mata-Mata’ acting in ‘Dirty Linen.’

At the media conference for the finale week of ‘Dirty Linen,’ which LionhearTV covered, Gutierrez said their nuanced acting in the series was thanks to their director Onat Diaz.

Parang kaya ko ba talaga ‘to? Medyo kinabahan ako noon.”

She then detailed how Diaz directed them on the set of ‘Dirty Linen’ to bring out the ‘Mata-Mata’ acting.

So thank you talaga Direk. Kasi I just followed lahat ng utos niya behind the scenes.”

Diaz explained they needed to convey each character’s duplicitous nature with their scenes.

“‘Yung mata-mata acting, is not a deliberate thing. So laging, pagkaharap, may ibang sinasabi, pero ‘yung mata may ibang binibigay.

“All of the characters, kung mapapansin ninyo, ‘yung mata-mata is really nothing but just that, a character expressing two sides and the two things that are happening in her mind, while she’s showing something else doon sa kaharap niyang tao. Nangyayari ‘yan sa totoong buhay di ba?”

Present during the finale media conference were the series cast Janine Gutierrez, Zanjoe Marudo, Janice De Belen, John Arcilla, Tessie Tomas, Angel Aquino, Christian Bables, Joel Torre, JC Santos, Elisse Joson, Seth Fedelin, Francine Diaz, Xyriel Manabat, Raven Rigor, and Epy Quizon.

Catch the last week of ‘Dirty Linen‘ on platforms such as Kapamilya Channel, Jeepney TV, A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC.
