In a brave move, beauty queen Shaila Rebortera has come forward to share her experience of alleged “physical, verbal, and emotional abuse,” breaking her silence on social media. Rebortera, the 2021 Miss Multinational Philippines titleholder, posted a candid statement on her account, declaring that she will no longer endure suffering in silence.
Just a few days earlier, Rebortera surprised her followers by revealing her relationship with actor Rob Gomez through social media posts featuring images of them together with their child. However, her recent revelation about abuse has garnered even more attention, as she shared pictures showing her bruised arms.
Kenneth Malayka Yamas, the Hiyas Ng Pilipinas Visayas Director, also weighed in on Rebortera’s post.
In her recent disclosure, Rebortera shed more light on her situation: “After over a year of being silent about the abuse, I’m happy I was able to speak my truth. Just hours after the photos of the bruises were uploaded, his mother asked for me to say sorry in exchange for being able to stay with them. I decided to leave.”

Although Rebortera did not directly name individuals involved, speculation has arisen that she is referring to Rob Gomez and his mother, former actress Kate Gomez, the daughter of the late, esteemed actor George Estregan.
Continuing her narrative, Rebortera explained: “Since that day, so many girls have reached out to tell me either about the same physical, verbal, and emotional abuse they have experienced from him or about the cheating incidents that happened all the while he was keeping our relationship and our baby ‘private’ for his career. I feel sick hearing about all these now.”
Despite the distressing revelations, Rebortera expressed her gratitude for the support she has received, emphasizing that it has played a significant role in helping her regain her strength. “To those who messaged me to let me know I’m not alone, thank you,” she conveyed.
Rebortera concluded her post with a powerful statement: “I know I should have spoken sooner, but the next best time is now.”
As of now, Rob Gomez has not issued a response. Meanwhile, Kate Gomez recently participated in an interview where she confirmed that Shaila Rebortera and her eight-month-old granddaughter, Amelia, have left their home.
According to Kate, Rob did not hide their presence but also did not publicly showcase them. Kate also revealed that when Rebortera became pregnant, Rob proposed marriage. The couple had plans to wed last year; however, the passing of Kate’s father-in-law led them to postpone the wedding due to Chinese traditions that mandate a two-year period of no weddings or celebrations after a family death.
In the interview, Kate also touched on the additional complexities Rebortera faced as Miss Multinational Philippines, a title that added an extra layer of nuance to their plans.
