On August 30, PIE Channel’s new game master, Eric Nicolas, recounted his job as ‘jester’ in Wowowin and how he came up with the popular game ‘Hep Hep Hooray.’
During the PIE Channel media event At the Sequoia Hotel in QC, which LionhearTV covered, Nicolas cited how he would ‘hype’ and entertain the live-studio audience of Kapamilya shows, including ‘Wowowin.’
“Host na ako pero sa likod ng camera as ‘jester.’ Jester ang crowd ko bilang host ay kung sino ‘yung nasa studio. At ‘yung crowd ng mga host na nakaharap sa camera, ‘yun naman ‘yung mga nanonood sa TV.
“Hype yes, hindi lang kailangan i-hype ha, kailangan kunin mo ‘yung mood, kailangan kunin mo ‘yung saya nila. Kailangan consistent ka na hangga’t hindi natatapos ang programa. Kailangan aalagaan mo sila at titignan mo sila.”
He then noted how proud he was that the game ‘Hep Hep Hooray’ became popular during the run of the noontime show.
“Wowowin, Wowowin, at doon ko rin na ano ‘yung ‘Hep Hep Hooray’ doon ko rin na-tiyempuhan na magawa na proud ako doon.”
He recalled his reaction when the ‘Wowowin’ host Willie Revillame saw the potential with ‘Hep Hep Hooray.’
“Excited at takot ako, kasi sinalang na ako agad doon sa ‘Hep Hep Hooray.’ Nagawa ko ‘yung ‘Hep Hep Hooray’ behind the camera. Nagustuhan, pinasok, ginawang segment, at ako ‘yung unang nilagay ng host talaga na si Willie Revillame para mag-ano noon.”
Nicolas also remarked that he loves being in front of the camera now after being a ‘jester’ for the live-studio audience.
“Nasa harap ng camera, and keep on learning kung ano pa ‘yung mga kakulangan ko para maging isa akong Luis at isang Robi pagdating ng araw.”
PIE Channel introduced their newest game masters, Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo, and Eric Nicolas.
Manzano hosts the exciting mystery game show ‘Tamang Hinala,’ starting September 9. Domingo takes on the game show of the eagle-eyed viewers, ‘Watchawin,’ on September 11 at 8:15 PM, and Nicolas joins the recently launched Pindot PIEnalo show filled with classic perya games, ‘Mukhang Perya’ with its roster of hosts.
