Sharon Cuneta addressed allegations of favoritism between her two daughters, Frankie Pangilinan and KC Concepcion, during a recent press conference held at Okada Manila on September 15.
The renowned actress and singer denied any truth to the rumors, emphasizing her equal love for all her children.
The controversy arose when Sharon defended Frankie against negative comments comparing her to KC. She clarified that such comparisons were unjust, given that KC’s father, Gabby Concepcion, is a former matinee idol. This background makes any comparisons between the siblings inherently unfair.
Sharon stressed that she loves all her children equally, but the amount of time spent together naturally fosters stronger bonds.
In her words, “Ang asawa puwedeng mawala pero ang dugo at laman mo, bumaligtad man ang mundo, dugo at laman mo ‘yan. I don’t play favorites. Some people seem to think favorite daughter ko, favorite na anak ko si Frankie, hindi. I love all my children equally.”
She further explained, “It’s just that, doon lang tayo sa totoo, kung sino siyempre ‘yung lagi mong kasama, lagi mong katabi, mayroon ka lang mas nakakasundo. And among all my children, ang kaugali ko si Frankie, and Miel is my body. Miguel is very, he’s such a gentleman at hindi ko nakikita si KC. So, I want to say this, when she mentions that she’s alone, I feel bad because it was her choice.”
The press conference primarily focused on the upcoming comeback concert titled ‘Dear Heart,’ scheduled for October at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
The concert marks a special event where Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion will perform together, promising a memorable experience for their fans.
