‘It’s Showtime’ hosts Vice Ganda and Vhong Navarro engaged in some playful banter regarding the suspension of their show.
After Vhong Navarro’s spiel on ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ for the day, Vice Ganda noticed his voice and remarked, “Ang ganda ng boses mo, pwede kang mag-announce…”
“Ng ano?” Vhong inquired.
“Ng suspension,” Vice Ganda cheekily replied, prompting laughter from the audience.
It can be recalled that the MTRCB (Movie and Television Review and Classification Board) summoned the management of the noontime show following a viral “icing” scene involving Vice Ganda and Ion Perez in one of the segments. The verdict from the MTRCB is still pending after a hearing regarding the show.
The cake incident occurred on July 25, 2023, during the ‘Isip Bata’ segment of the show. In the segment, hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez displayed affectionate behavior. Ion held a cake and sampled the icing with his fingers. He then approached Vice, who playfully took some of the icing from Ion’s fingers and tasted it.
Some viewers criticized the incident, deeming it indecent and inappropriate for a daytime show. Consequently, the MTRCB issued a notice to appear and testify to the show’s producers.
