Former ‘Eat Bulaga!’ host Jimmy Santos made a special appearance on the noontime show ‘E.A.T.’ to celebrate Joey de Leon’s 77th birthday on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
Jimmy’s arrival was a well-kept secret, and he was introduced during ‘E.A.T.’s’ ‘Gimme 5’ segment by Wally Bayola, who portrayed the character Daddy Ethan, Jimmy’s driver in a comedy skit alongside Atasha Muhlach.
The Legit Dabarkads, ‘E.A.T.’s’ hosts, appeared genuinely surprised as they had no prior knowledge of Jimmy’s visit. The surprise visit was a heartwarming moment for Joey de Leon and the ‘E.A.T.’ team.
To mark Joey’s special day, Jimmy presented him with a cake, which evoked emotional reactions from ‘E.A.T.’s’ hosts Paolo Ballesteros, Allan K, Wally, and Vic Sotto. The celebration was filled with laughter and fond memories.
“Happy birthday. Alam mo naman na hindi kita makalimutan,” Jimmy greeted Joey while presenting the cake.
Vic promptly urged Jimmy to share a message with Joey and the audience.
In his heartfelt message to the Henyo Master, Jimmy said, “I like to greet you a happy, happy, happy birthday. Whatever happens in this country, I still love you all three times a day.”
Jimmy also had a message for ‘E.A.T.’s’ viewers, in which he referenced the TVJ’s (Tito, Vic, and Joey) former noontime show on GMA Network.
He said, “Especially those people [studio audiences] surrounding the vicinity. I miss you all. Thank you very much, E.A.T. is here to stay.”
Vic couldn’t help but interject with a lighthearted correction, “Mali, mali, E.A.T., wala ka talagang kupas.”
Jimmy quickly amended his statement, saying, “E.A.T. pala is here to stay. Thank you so much.”
Jimmy’s last appearance on ‘Eat Bulaga!’ was in December 2021, during the Christmas episode of the popular segment ‘Bawal Judgmental.’ Since then, he has been residing in Canada. While he is no longer active in television, movies, and hosting, he has been actively producing vlogs on his YouTube channel.
