Sorsogon Gov. Jose Edwin B. Hamor takes a stand against Kamikazee’s behavior

Sorsogon Governor Jose Edwin B. Hamor has spoken out about the recent controversy involving the band Kamikazee, revealing that the group was prevented from performing at the Casiguran, Sorsogon Town Fiesta 2023 concert due to their attitude and behavior.

According to the governor, despite having been paid for their performance, the band exhibited a problematic attitude that led to their exclusion from the event.

The incident occurred during the annual Kasanggayahan Festival 2023, where Jonathan Valdez, who annually brings artists and bands to Sorsogon, was responsible for coordinating the performances.

Valdez recounted his experience with the artists, stating, “In my years of bringing bands/artists in Sorsogon, never po nag request ng picture si Gov. And I believe all the artists/bands can attest how considerate, kind, & generous Gov is, kaya naman I did everything to accommodate his very simple request couple of days before the event.”

Valdez mentioned that the bands Imago and I Belong to the Zoo graciously accepted the governor’s request for a photo. However, Kamikazee became a source of stress due to their reluctance to respond to the request, even though they eventually agreed just 30 minutes before their scheduled performance.

Governor Hamor himself waited for Kamikazee to arrive at the venue, but when they failed to disembark from their van, Valdez attempted to persuade them, offering to charge an additional fee for the photo. Despite his efforts, the band ignored his pleas. An assistant to the governor approached Valdez and told him to convey the message to Governor Hamor. As a result, the band was asked to leave Sorsogon and was not allowed to perform.

Governor Hamor pointed out that Kamikazee had been fully paid for their performance, and all their requests had been granted, including provisions for liquor and more. He expressed his disappointment at their behavior, emphasizing that they had crossed a line with their rudeness.

The incident has sparked discussion within the entertainment industry, with many acknowledging that Kamikazee’s actions were unacceptable. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of professionalism and respect in the world of entertainment.

LionhearTV is open for the side of Kamikazee.
