In a much-anticipated revival, the legendary ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ horror film series is set to return with its 16th installment, titled ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme.’
Regal Entertainment Inc. is bringing back this beloved franchise, known for its spine-tingling tales that have been a part of Filipino cinema since the 1980s.
The last time audiences experienced the bone-chilling stories of ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ was in 2006 when it was featured as an official entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). Now, after a lengthy hiatus, the series is returning to deliver extreme thrills and suspense to horror enthusiasts.
The cast of ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme’ includes a stellar ensemble featuring renowned actors and rising stars. The lineup includes Iza Calzado, Jane de Leon, Paul Salas, RK Bagatsing, Paolo Gumabao, Rob Gomez, Ac Bonifacio, Angel Guardian, Ninong Ry, and many more. The film offers three chilling episodes, namely ‘Glitch,’ ‘Rage,’ and ‘Mukbang,’ with each segment directed by esteemed filmmakers Jerrold Tarog, Joey de Guzman, and Richard Somes, all of whom have made significant contributions to the franchise in the past.
One episode follows a group of friends who confront malevolent spirits, while another takes a darker turn involving a gruesome feast of human flesh, with Paul Salas and AC Bonifacio in the lead roles.
