On October 10, A1 Members Ben Adams, Mark Read, Christian Ingebrigtsen, and Paul Marazzi recalled their funniest stage moments when they were performing.

At the media conference for ‘A1 Twenty Five Manila,’ which LionhearTV covered, Adams began recounting that he once fell through a stage they performed when they were younger.

“Remember one of our first live gigs, and my leg [just] went straight through.”

Marazzi noted that each member had their own experience falling through a stage during their live gigs when they were starting out.

“When we started doing anything together, we did under 18 discos and schools, and some of the stages were [kind of] thrown together, and actually, we have all fallen on stage at one time.”

Read then talked about their fashion faux pas from the ’90s.

“Back in the day, Ben used to wear cargo pants that we could probably fit three of us in. They were like parachute pants. If there [was] a sure gust of wind, he would take off, but we have a lot of fashion faux pas, [a lot of] things we wouldn’t probably [be seen] around anywhere now.”

Ingebrigtsen added, “We wanted to grow curtains–but [we] couldn’t anymore.”

Aside from their ’90s looks, Read also recounted an anecdote about meeting their prime minister from 1997 to 2007 during a train ride.

“We were on a train back from a big concert that we were doing, and we were on our way to our next [concert.] We were on the train, and [we were] told, we were alerted that the Prime Minister of Britain was on the train with us. So that– at the time– our Prime Minister was Tony Blair, and he actually came to our carriage and came to speak to us.

“And he said, ‘It’s quite actually lucky that you are here, because–we’ve been told that there were a lot of fans waiting for you guys at the station where we would get off, so if you guys could give us a diversion, if you get off first, all of the fans would run over to you and we can just disappear without getting any attention.'”

He then noted how the group had been so in awe of meeting Tony Blair that they forgot to get off the train.

“And then we were looking up, and the train was coming to a stop, ‘That was amazing, Tony Blair.’

“We saw Tony Blair getting off the train and all of the fans, and we realized that we didn’t get off the train and [that we] got caught in the moment that we forget to get off the train.”

Ingebrigtsen noted that their security detail had to pick them up in the next city.

“I [just] remember, our security detail on the outside like this. They had to drive to the next city to pick us up. And we weren’t a good diversion [really.]”

A1 Members Ben Adams, Mark Read, Christian Ingebrigtsen, and Paul Marazzi return to the Philippines for a concert event titled ‘A1 Twenty Five Manila’ at the New Frontier Theater in Araneta City Cubao in Quezon City from October 14 to 15.

Concertgoers and A1 fans can purchase tickets through Ticketnet Online or SM Tickets.

Aside from their concert event, A1 also released ‘Call Me When You Land,’ for their 25th year in music. Their single is available for streaming on all music platforms nationwide.
