On November 9, actress Louise De Los Reyes tried to emulate Box Office Horror Queen Kris Aquino’s iconic scream from ‘Feng Shui’ with the upcoming movie ‘Marita.’
At the media conference for ‘Marita,’ which LionhearTV covered, De Los Reyes cited her preparations for her role, including her goal of making an iconic scream similar to Aquino’s portrayal in ‘Feng Shui.’
“Siyempre kapag artista, mayroon kayong mga spirit animal na tinatawag kapag gumagawa kayo ng project, I think dito, tinawag ko ‘yung tili ni Kris Aquino sa unang Feng Shui na movie. ‘Yun talaga ‘yung parang sabi ko, kung mayroon mang nagiging trademark, parang gusto ko marinig ‘yung sigaw ko or ‘yung tili ko ‘yung makikilala.”
She also acknowledged the challenge of modulating her voice for her role in the upcoming horror film.
“Siguro ang pinaka-challenging para sa akin ay siguro– kasi mayroon talaga akong bungisngis na boses, and ito ngayon, medyo mino-modulate ko. Tinatry ko talaga na sa bawat eksena ko as a teacher na modulated ‘yung voice na maturity ng kaunti, para ma-differentiate talaga ‘yung age namin. Kasi, ‘yung speaking voice ko ganito eh, alam mo ‘yun, mataas madining, pero feeling ko may mga eksena talaga na ‘yung normal speaking voice ko ‘yung nagagamit.”
She then talked about her character in the horror movie and how she recuperated from her busy schedule as an actress and her studies.
“And dito naman sa character kong si Sandra, ano talaga siya eh, prino-protektahan niya talaga ‘yung mga estudyante niya sa story, wala naman masyadong preparation, I think ang sa akin kung paano ako magre-recuperate from the taping itself, or from the shooting itself, kasi sobrang draining ng lahat ng sigaw, lahat ng emotion binigay ko sa horror film.
“So mas doon ko prinepare ‘yung sarili ko kung paano ko magrerecuperate, the next day and knowing na the next day, mayroon akong school, kasi mayroon din akong business school. So nagvo-volley din ako from one place to another, kaya mas extra dreadful ‘yung mga araw.”
De Los Reyes starred in the hit Metro Manila Film Festival 2022 horror movie ‘Deleter’ with Nadine Lustre and McCoy De Leon.

Under the direction of Roni S Benaid, ‘Marita’ opens in cinemas on November 22.
