On October 27, action star Monsour Del Rosario thanked GMA Network for returning him to TV.
At the media event for ‘Black Rider,’ which LionhearTV covered, Del Rosario acknowledged the GMA Network and the people behind the Kapuso-action teleserye for helping him get back to TV.
“Unang-una, gusto kong magpasalamat sa GMA 7 na binalik nila ako sa telebisyon. Medyo matagal akong hindi lumabas sa telebisyon, siguro more than 10 years.
“Gusto ko ring magpasalamat kay Direk Richard at kay Direk Rommel, lalo na kay Direk Rommel, eh noong cameraman pa lang ‘to, assistant director na, nakatrabaho ko na ‘to.
“Gusto ko ring magpasalamat sa junior ko sa martial arts, si Erwin Tagle, dahil madali siyang katrabaho at open siya sa mga ideas, mga techniques sa martial arts. At dati kong tinuturuan din ‘yan at proud din ako sa kaniya na naging fight director na siya ngayon.”
He also discussed working with young Kapuso action stars like Ruru Madrid and Jon Lucas.
“Well, sa experience ko dito, curious ako na makita ‘yung mga batang artista na mag-aaction, at well ang mga naka-eksena ko ay sila Jon Lucas, si Ruru Madrid, ang naka-fight scene ko si Ruru, tinitignan ko ‘yung potential niya. Malaki ‘yung potential ng bata para maging isang action star sa pelikula, hindi lang sa telebisyon.”
He then praised Madrid’s commitment with his action scenes for his role in ‘Black Rider.’
“Sinabayan niya ‘yung mga fight scenes na ginagawa ko at mayroon siyang eksena na isa na hindi ko inexpect na isa-sacrifice niya ‘yung katawan niya, ‘yung sinipa ko siya, ibabagsak niya ‘yung sarili niya sa drum at tsaka sa semento, na walang padding, walang kutson, walang ano, and akala ko stuntman ang gagawa. Sa totoo lang, mas maganda pa ‘yung execution niya sa stuntman. So medyo sabi ko sa kaniya, pangalagaan niya itong career niya dahil malayo ang mararating niya.”
His last TV project was the Kapamilya series Kung-Fu Kids in 2008.
‘Black Rider’ stars Ruru Madrid, Yassi Pressman, Katrina Halili, Matteo Guidicelli, and Jon Lucas.
The cast also features Raymond Bagatsing, Gladys Reyes, Raymart Santiago, Zoren Legaspi, Gary Estrada, Rio Locsin, Roi Vinzon, Almira Muhlach, Monsour del Rosario, Jayson Gainza, Janus del Prado, Empoy Marquez, Rainier Castillo, Prince Clemente, Luis Hontiveros, Vance Larena, Kim Perez, and Saviour Ramos.
