On November 11, comedian Vice Ganda admitted feeling overwhelmed with her endorsement of the fast food giant McDonald’s.
At the media event for her newest endorsement deal with McDonald’s fried chicken, Vice remarked she wanted to share how the fast food brand improved its McChicken recipe.
“I just want to share the wonderful experience na nakuha ko sa McDonalds, gusto ko hindi lang ako ang maka-experience noon, ang gusto ko, lahat ng tao, unang-una gusto kong malaman nila ‘yung magandang balita na napakagandang improvement, napakasarap na improvement ng McDonald’s product, ng McChicken.”
She also highlighted how the brand maintained its quality amid the setbacks caused by the pandemic.
“Gusto kong ma-experience nila ‘yung unkabogable experience, kasi especially now, mag-mula ng mag pandemic, maraming products ‘yung nagdo-downgrade na hindi naman natin masisisi dahil sa hirap ng buhay, tinitipid, and ito ‘yung produkto na ang sarap-sarap maranasan. Hindi lang siya sulit eh, parang sa kabayo, liyamadong-liyamado ‘yung experience.”
She emphasized how she considered her endorsement of the family-friendly brand a big win for the LGBTQIA+ community.
“Ang saya-saya ko, tapos ang una kong tanong, ‘Why just now?’ charot-charot lang. Nakakatuwa, nabigla ako, overwhelmed ako. Kasi ‘yung McDonalds, wholesome brand, wholesome brand di ba?
“Pang pamilya yung brand ng McDonalds, tapos for them to even consider me di ba? Ang laking bagay nito not just for me, but for my community the LGBTQIA+ community na isang malaking brand ipinagkakatiwala na iassociate nila ‘yung pangalan nila sa pangalan ko. Nakaka-flatter, malaking bagay, big win ito para sa akin.”
The It’s Showtime host recently appeared in the latest ad from McDonald’s, wherein she was walking into the fast-food chain in her scene-stealing outfit with a tray of McChicken in hand.
She then muttered the phrases “Nice! Ganda!” and “Nice! Sarap!” as her reaction to the new and improved recipe of McChicken.
