On September 19, Kapuso artist Yasser Marta reacted to the bashing he got after joining ‘Eat Bulaga.’
At the media event for Regal Studio Presents’ 2nd anniversary, which LionHearTV covered, Marta remarked that he didn’t mind the bashing since he wanted to focus on his job as a host.
“Mayroon pa rin naman, pero sa akin, hindi na rin ako nagpapa-apekto sa mga ganyang ano eh, klase ng pamba-bash. Sa akin, trabaho lang, tuloy-tuloy and nakikita naman nila na maganda ‘yung feedback eh, masaya na po ako.”
He then discussed what it was like moving into his hosting stint on the noontime show after coming from acting projects.
“At first siguro mahirap, kasi ‘yung side ko na ‘yun, sa sarili ko, very private ako, sa family and friends din. Pero, noong sa Bulaga, noong pumasok ako sa pamilya ng Eat Bulaga, tinanggap rin nila ako, kaya rin siguro nalalabas ko ‘yung side ko, dahil sa mga kasama ko. Dahil ang hirap, ang hirap sa pressure din sa Eat Bulaga, kung ano pa ‘yung maiaambag ko sa grupo.”
He also cited the challenges of doing live noontime shows as the new host.
“Lalo na sa live, hindi naman ako sanay mag-live, di rin ako nagho-host. Puro acting and singing lang, tapos sumasayaw na rin tayo kaya, nare-realize ko din na mahirap kumita ng pera.”
However, he affirmed his childhood goal of entertaining people as an artist.
“Pero ako, ‘yun din naman ‘yung gusto kong gawin dahil sa totoo lang, bata pa lang ako, nag-aaral pa lang ako, gusto ko nagpa-participate, napapasaya ko ‘yung mga kaklase ko, ganon. And na-realize ko lang din na hanggang ngayon, gusto ko lang magpasaya ng tao. Ito rin lang ‘yung passion ko ngayon.”
As for the series, ‘Regal Studio Presents’ features Kapuso and Regal artists such as Dustin Yu, Shayne Sava, Yasser Mata, Lexi Gonzales, Will Ashley, Althea Ablan, Carlo San Juan, Miggs Cuaderno, Royce Cabrera, AZ Martinez, Larkin Castor, Lianne Valentin, and Brianna Bunagan star in some episodes of the GMA Network and Regal collaboration.
