Talk show host Boy Abunda admitted to misjudging the potential reconciliation between Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, expressing his deep sadness at the official confirmation of their breakup.
During a recent YouTube video, Boy Abunda shared his sentiments about the KathNiel split, acknowledging his connection to the Filipino community that mourns the end of the relationship between Kath and DJ, whom he considers not just friends but godchildren.
Known as the King of Talk, Boy has been a keen observer of KathNiel’s journey since their early days in showbiz. He openly admitted that he lacks insight into the specific reasons behind Daniel and Kathryn’s decision to part ways but empathized with the inevitable pain accompanying such a significant breakup.
“I honor this pain. I cry for KathNiel as a fan and friend. I respect their decision to part ways knowing that they tried to save this love story with respect but one that ended with respect to paraphrase Kathryn,” he remarked.
Boy Abunda commended Kathryn Bernardo for her grace and decency in handling the situation. He also referenced Daniel Padilla’s recent statement, recalling a past interview where Daniel shared that being forgiven is more challenging than facing betrayal.
“Just finished reading her statement. Class is not dead. What a decent girl Kathryn Bernardo is.”
Despite not being privy to the intricacies of the breakup, Boy Abunda underscored the enduring love shared between Daniel and Kathryn, emphasizing that their decision to part ways came with mutual respect.
On November 30, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla officially confirmed their separation, bringing an end to a love team that commenced in 2011 with the youth-oriented series ‘Growing Up.’ The duo collaborated on numerous successful projects over the years, solidifying their status as an iconic love team in the entertainment industry.
While a comeback movie was hinted at in March 2023, the confirmation of their breakup adds a poignant layer to their professional journey together.
