The Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 ends this January 7, and the question on moviegoers’ minds is which festival entries will continue showing in cinemas after MMFF ends.
As the festival ends, cinemas will return to their regular schedule of films, but similar to previous years, some of the festival movies will continue running in cinemas after the MMFF.

UPDATE: In a remarkable achievement for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), organizers have decided to extend the theatrical run of its movies due to the combined total gross receipts reaching an impressive P1 billion.
According to reports, Star Cinema’s Rewind, starring Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, leads the box office with earnings of over 368 million as of January 1, and some believe that the film would’ve surpassed the P400 million mark by the end of the festival.
The next highest-grossing film is Piolo Pascual’s Mallari, with over P90 million in earnings.
Taking the third spot is the most awarded MMFF 2023 film, GomBurZa, with earnings of P50 million.
These figures came from a reliable source cited in the report of the entertainment blogger Rod Magaru.
According to PEP’s Cabinet Files, the one taking the fourth spot would be the MMFF 2023 Best Picture Firefly.
Finally, the film that got the fifth spot for MMFF 2023 is Family of Two, starring Sharon Cuneta and Alden Richards.
While these reports remain unofficial, MMFF Chairperson Atty. Don Artes revealed that the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 has reportedly reached P700 Million in total earnings from all ten entries.
With that in mind, MMFF will release the official tally earnings for each entry by January 7.
