Taking off from the victorious finale of ‘Love.Die.Repeat’, GMA Network’s latest primetime series, ‘My Guardian Alien (MGA), proved to be a worthy successor after winning the ratings game on its pilot episode.
According to the latest ratings report from the Nielsen NUTAM People survey, Marian Rivera proved to be the reigning Kapuso primetime queen as MGA took the timeslot lead against Kapamilya rival ‘Linlang.’
On Monday, April 1, MGA premiered at the top of the ratings race, capturing a rating of 11.1 percent and taking the number 4 spot on the overall ratings leaderboard. ‘Linlang’, on the other hand, ranked 7th after posting a 1.7 percent lower rating at 9.4 percent.
Meanwhile, aside from winning the ratings game, MGA also received good feedback from viewers who shared their reactions on social media.
On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), @andyvidor praised the series’ great cinematography, adding a question to GMA Network about whether the series is only intended for a 2-month run.

In the pilot episode, Marian Rivera playing Katherine and Gabby Concepcion playing Carlos, along with Raphael Landicho as their son Doy were introduced as the Soriano family.
Katherine and Carlos wanted to get married for the fourth time, but Carlos’s mother, Nova (Marissa Delgado), still seemed opposed to their relationship. Katherine felt hurt because she believed that Nova still didn’t accept her as her son’s wife.
Katherine was surprised and dismayed when her mother-in-law introduced someone who was said to be a longtime friend of their family, Venus (Max Collins). Venus returned to the Philippines to assist Carlos’s family business, which Katherine didn’t support due to the past wrongs committed by Venus’s family against her.
Meanwhile, Katherine was biking with her husband and son when she witnessed two men arguing. She was shocked when she heard a gunshot and realized that the man responsible saw her.
Katherine begged Minggoy (Arnold Reyes) not to kill her because she had a family, but he still shot her causing immense pain for Carlos and Doy after Katherine eventually died.
My Guardian Alien airs Monday-Friday at 8:45 p.m. on GMA Network with a delayed telecast on GTV.
