Recent revelations suggest that actors Paolo Contis and Yen Santos were never in a romantic relationship, as claimed by Santos’ mother, Lilian Santos.
In a recent episode of the ‘OOTD’ vlog hosted by Chaps Manansala and Jobert Sucaldito, the longstanding rumors about Contis and Santos were addressed. Despite being frequently seen together, neither Contis nor Santos had confirmed or denied their relationship status.
Contis previously hinted at their closeness by stating, “what you see is what you get,” implying that their public appearances could be interpreted as a relationship. However, he also expressed frustration that people often believe what they want regardless of the truth.
Recently, reports emerged that the two had allegedly split, with Santos deleting most photos of Contis from her Instagram account, leaving only two promotional posters from their 2021 film ‘A Far Away Land.’
Sucaldito shared that he spoke directly with Santos’ mother, Lilian, who asserted that her daughter and Contis were never a couple.
““Ha? Never na naging sina Pao at Yen? Pero inisip ko coming from a mother baka ayaw lang niya kay Paolo, ‘di ba? Sabi ko, ‘pero ang balita ‘di ba live-in sila?’,” said Sucaldito. “Sabi niya (mommy Lilian) si Yen lives with her tita in Manila. Si mommy Lilian kasi nasa Cabanatuan. Siya ang nagbabantay ng business nila they have a commercial building there, eh may mga umuupa (like) 7, 11 iyon ang kabuhayan nila.”
This statement has sparked further speculation among netizens, with some suggesting that Lilian might not be fully aware of her daughter’s private life. Others believe there might be more to the story.
Responding to netizens’ comments implying a more casual relationship, Sucaldito remarked, “Puwede, malay mo. Hindi natin alam.”
