Veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin has responded to the cyber libel case filed against her by actor Dominic Roque, former fiancé of Bea Alonzo.
Dominic lodged the cyber libel complaint at the Office of the City Prosecutor in Pasig City last Friday, May 31. The actor’s lawsuit is based on allegedly malicious statements and innuendos made by Cristy on her YouTube channel, Showbiz Now Na.
In her statement to GMA Network, Cristy expressed that filing a case is Dominic’s right and that she would await the subpoena.
“Karapatan naman nila ‘yan. Karapatan nila ‘yan basta tingnan na lang natin kung ano ang mangyayari kapagka nagsagutan na ‘di ba?,” Cristy stated.
She also mentioned the pending case filed by Bea Alonzo, noting that she has yet to receive the subpoena for that case as well.
“‘Yung kay Bea hindi pa nagsisimula eh. Wala pa, hindi pa namin natatanggap ‘yung subpoena. Hintayin ko na lang ‘yung subpoena nito. Magpapadala naman sila eh. Karapatan niya ‘yon, OK lang ‘yon,” she added.
This recent lawsuit follows other cyber libel cases filed against Cristy, including those by Bea Alonzo and Sharon Cuneta.
