Nadia Montenegro has addressed long-standing rumors about having a child with actor Baron Geisler in an exclusive interview with Julius Babao on his YouTube channel.
While Montenegro did not mention Geisler by name, she provided clarity on the issue, emphasizing that her family knows the entire truth.
Montenegro revealed that her family, including her late husband, former Caloocan Mayor Macario “Boy” Asistio Jr., was aware of the situation.
“Yung mga nangyari sa buhay ko before, in the past — siguro umabot sa 17, 18 years na naitago ko — hindi ko ito itinago sa mga taong dapat nakakaalam,” she stated. She emphasized her honesty with her loved ones, including her children and her late husband.
In the interview, Montenegro discussed the challenges she faced and how she managed them with her family’s support. She recounted a heartfelt conversation with her husband two weeks before he passed away on February 6, 2017. “Two weeks before Boy died, we had a heart-to-heart talk of two and a half hours,” she shared, calling it the most valuable discussion they had in their 29 years together.
When asked if she regretted her past actions, Montenegro was quick to respond, “no.” She described her youngest daughter, Sophia, as a blessing from God. “She’s [the] most beautiful girl na pinalaki ko siya, punumpuno ng pagmamahal,” she said, praising Sophia for her respect towards her late father, Boy, who raised and loved her.
Montenegro made it clear that Sophia has no interest in establishing a relationship with Geisler. “As of now, hindi,” she stated firmly. She criticized Geisler for announcing their connection publicly without proper intention, hinting that it seemed more like a publicity stunt rather than a genuine effort to build a relationship.
Geisler previously mentioned the existence of a hidden child while promoting his movie, ‘Dearly Beloved,’ with Cristine Reyes, which was released on March 30, 2024. This sparked further speculation and controversy.
Montenegro also commented on the public’s fascination with her personal life, acknowledging the scrutiny that comes with being a celebrity. “Nakakatawa, feasting on somebody else’s life?” she remarked, calling for prayers for those who thrive on spreading negativity about others.
Despite the controversies, Montenegro takes pride in the strengthened bond with her children. “If there’s one thing I can be proud of being a mother, I make sure na in every crisis, it just make us stronger,” she said, emphasizing her commitment to her family and faith in God.
