Actor Xian Lim has disclosed the severe backlash he and his family have faced since his breakup with actress-host Kim Chiu, including receiving death threats.
In an interview with GMA Integrated News, Lim expressed his distress over the continuous negative reactions from fans, even though the couple ended their 12-year relationship some time ago.
“It’s sad and very painful, but life goes on,” Lim shared. “It’s really hard. It’s getting out of hand, na. Sabihin nila nag-iingay si Xian dahil may pelikula, no.”
Lim pointed out that both he and Chiu had already explained the reasons behind their split and that there was no need to pinpoint who was at fault. “We did explain from the bottom of our hearts kung ano talaga ang nangyari. Hindi na namin kailangan pa isa-isahin kung sino ang nagkulang because it’s just like any other relationship,” he explained.
The ‘Love.Die.Repeat.’ actor emphasized that the false accusations and lies being spread about him are undeserved. “I do not deserve the false accusations and lies being spread. I work really hard. We are all working really hard. I don’t want to be defined by what happened with my breakup or my previous relationship. I don’t want to be defined by what people are saying about me—these false headlines, o kung ano man,” he asserted.
Lim revealed that the threats have extended to his family, something he finds unacceptable. “Sige, ako na po ‘yung tirahin nila, but not my family. Nadadamay na rin kasi ‘yung nanay ko pati ‘yung lola ko. They’re getting personal messages. I’m getting death threats. My mom’s getting death threats. That’s the gravity of the situation I’m dealing with now. My family doesn’t deserve all the makeup lies,” he lamented.

The couple confirmed their separation in December 2023. Lim is now dating film producer Iris Lee.
