Alyssa Muhlach was among the standout talents showcased at this month’s Star Magic Spotlight presscon, held on July 12, 2024, at the Coffee Project in Wil Tower Mall, Quezon City.
Her rise to stardom began when she proudly represented the Philippines and won the Reina Hispanoamericana crown in 2018 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
When praised for her eloquence and confidence in answering questions, she admitted she still gets nervous. Still, she shared a tip for beauty queens, “The moment tinawag na yung number ko or my name, I will only look at the host or the judge, whoever is asking. You have to focus, this is your ride or die moment.”
Alyssa has explored her talents in acting. She has graced different roles, with performances like Emilia in ‘Clarita’ (2019), Marcy Villareal in ‘Hellcome Home’ (2019), and notable appearances in the teleserye ‘Pamilya Ko’ (2020). Her breakthrough came with the role of Jillian “Jill” de Guzman in ABS-CBN’s acclaimed series ‘2 Good To Be True,’ where she starred alongside industry luminaries Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
She also expressed her interest in exploring theatre acting, particularly musical theatre, “I really wanna be a part of a musical. I was thinking of auditioning for ‘One More Chance’,” she shared, but unfortunately missed the chance to audition.
“I really want to, in the future. I have to be more attentive, I guess, to the audition dates,” she said.
When asked about how she manages to choose between the talents she has, Alyssa chose to focus on singing, “The job opportunities that were given to me, it really was acting. But if you were to ask me, based on what I love, I really love singing the most. If you were to tell me that I were to perform in the next hour, kayang-kaya ko po siya ng walang pag-nenerbyos,”
“As of today, I can say na nagpaalam na ako sa pageantry. I think I’ve reached a point in my career where I really wanna focus on singing,” she added.
Adding to her repertoire, Alyssa has ventured into the music scene, debuting her single ‘Paalam’ under Tarsier Records on June 28, 2024. This highlights her versatility and dedication to establishing a prominent presence in the entertainment industry.
Alyssa hinted about future releases and about her debut single, Paalam, “I would love to release more songs this year or maybe early next year, and for now yun lang, Paalam first. I really want everybody to have the chance to listen to Paalam because I really love the message also, that it really empowers women, to value their independence and self-worth,”
When asked about her dream collaboration, she mentioned Nation’s Girl Group, BINI, “Right now talaga ang dream kong maka-collaborate is BINI. The success of BINI kasi awakened and renewed the love of Filipinos for OPM and PPop music. I’m sure everyone in the music industry will agree that na parang this is a renewing of love nga for OPM. So, I really wanna work with them. And they’re also all girls, parang ano siya, it’s aligned with the women empowerment message that I want to share to the world.”
