‘It’s Showtime’ to air until December on GMA Network?

The long-running Kapamilya noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’ is rumored to end its broadcast on GMA Network by December, according to a report published in Pilipino Star Ngayon on October 8.

The article, written by Jun Nardo, cited a source claiming that ‘It’s Showtime’ will only air on GMA Network until the end of the year.

Following its departure from GMA Network, the show is expected to transfer to ALLTV, a network where it is already being simulcast. Should this happen, ALLTV will reportedly become the other home of ‘It’s Showtime’, giving the fledgling network a significant boost in viewership and popularity. ‘It’s Showtime’ is also being aired in A2Z.

Since moving to GMA Network earlier this year, ‘It’s Showtime’ has consistently outperformed its competitor, ‘Eat Bulaga!’, in terms of ratings. ‘Eat Bulaga!’, now airing on TV5 and A2Z, has seen its viewership dwindle, with reports suggesting it has only been attracting about half the audience it once did. ‘It’s Showtime’, on the other hand, has been a ratings powerhouse, significantly boosting GMA Network’s daytime lineup.

In addition to its impressive viewership, ‘It’s Showtime’ has played a vital role in promoting Kapuso shows and talents. Many GMA Network artists who have appeared as guests on the show have trended on social media, further increasing their visibility and adding to the success of their programs.

The article also mentioned that TAPE Inc., the production company behind ‘Eat Bulaga!’, has reappointed Malou Choa-Fagar as its President and CEO. Choa-Fagar was instrumental in the success of ‘Eat Bulaga!’ during its early years on RPN 9 and later on ABS-CBN and GMA Network. Her return to TAPE Inc. has sparked speculation that the company will launch a new noontime show to fill the void once ‘It’s Showtime’ exits GMA Network.

The new show, which will reportedly replace ‘It’s Showtime’ on GMA Network, is part of TAPE Inc.’s efforts to regain a foothold in the competitive noontime programming slot. The details of the new show are still under wraps, but it is expected to bring fresh content to GMA Network’s noontime audience.

As the year draws to a close, viewers are eagerly awaiting official announcements from both GMA Network and ‘It’s Showtime’ about their next moves. The potential transfer of ‘It’s Showtime’ to ALLTV and the arrival of a new TAPE Inc. noontime show signal significant shifts in the landscape of Philippine noontime television.
