Kapuso actor Archie Alemania has drawn widespread criticism following the filing of an acts of lasciviousness case against him by co-star Rita Daniela.
The actress filed the complaint in Bacoor, Cavite, alleging inappropriate conduct by Alemania at a thanksgiving party hosted by actress Bea Alonzo on September 9.
Daniela’s sworn affidavit details that the incident left her traumatized, which ultimately compelled her to pursue legal action. “That being a public figure, a contractual artist with reputation to protect, it is very difficult for me to file the instant case but the trauma I was and am experiencing brought about by the incident gave me courage to face the consequences and file the instant case against the respondent,” Daniela’s statement read. She expressed that the incident brought her lasting distress, driving her to take a stand.
Amid these allegations, Alemania has remained silent on his social media platforms, prompting criticism from netizens.
A recent Instagram post from the September party has had its comment section disabled, though netizens have redirected their comments to other posts by the actor. Many expressed disappointment and condemnation, with some comments even appearing on his Facebook page, where his last post was an anniversary message for his wife, Gee Canlas, on October 27.
Canlas has also stayed quiet amid the ongoing criticism, opting not to respond to the influx of comments referencing the allegations. As netizens continue to speculate and react online, both Alemania and Canlas have refrained from addressing the issue publicly, leaving questions about the actor’s response to the case unresolved.
